Beadsmith Bead Oracle

The Beadsmith Bead Oracle is a wallet-sized reference card filled with valuable information.  Made of thick plastic, measuring 85mm x 54mm, essentially the same size as a credit card. Because of this it’s easy to store in your stash of jewellery-making supplies or wallet.

The Beadsmith bead oracle is a double-sided card of useful measurements. The first side has a ruler across the top in inches. This side of the card has wire thicknesses, in metric, imperial and gauge measurements, showing inches and millimeters. There’s also visual examples of the thicknesses in lines going off the card’s edge. This will help to gauge (sorry) the thickness of your thread/wire. Below are seed bead sizes and details how to measure 6/0, 8/0, 11/0 and 15/0 to find the size you need.

Flip the card over and you have a ruler in millimeters across the top. There are visual examples of popular round bead sizes 2-16mm. This way you can determine the size of a bead or if you need another size for your project. In addition you have a reference chart to answer the question “how many beads do I need”. The top of the chart lists the length of string 7, 8, 9, 16, 18, 20 and 22 in inches across the top, with beads sizes (5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16mm) running along the side.
