Crimp Beads
Crimp beads and Crimp tubes are used to connect clasps to thin thread such as Beadalon, Softflex and Supplemax (monofilament) thread. Generally any threads where you cannot tie knots. Crimps are also used on spacer necklaces (there is an example of this on our 'How to Leaflet'), where the crimp beads are crushed either side of a bead so it does not move. Crimp beads and tubes have also been known to be used as spacers. Then again you can use crimp beads just like any other normal bead. The only difference is the internal diameter of the crimp will restrict which threads and wire you can thread them on to!

Crimp Tubes These crimps tubes are much better quality and are nicer to use than the crimp beads as they have smooth edges and do not twist when crushed but produce a smart flat rectangle. If you use crimping pliers then you will produce a smaller folded rectangle when crimped but this method only works well if you are using two threads through the crimp tube.
